Aadhaar Not Mandatory for JEE Main and UGC NET 2018

National Testing Agency in a recent notice has announced that the Aadhaar is not mandatory to apply for JEE Main and UGC NET 2018 December Exam. The NTA has clarified that Aadhaar is one of the identification types not necessarily mandatory.

There’s been a lot of confusion among applicants as rumor mills online propagated that the Aadhaar was mandatory for the online application. That despite Supreme Court order in March and May that ensures that Aadhaar is not the ultimate identification type.

Many applicants without Aadhaar were quite in scared about the development that put them in the difficult spot. As it is still not easy to get enrolled in the Aadhaar. Moreover, the recent spate of controversies surrounding Aadhaar has again made it unpopular among the middle class in India.

Though applicants belong to weaker and poor sections especially who are living in the far rural areas usually find it difficult to apply for Aadhaar. Therefore, these applicants would have been discriminated against if Aadhaar was made mandatory for the online application.

Thankfully, NTA has cleared all rumors in time that so that students still waiting to apply for JEE Main and UGC NET 2018 could apply now without any difficulty.

The UGC NET 2018 online application has already started for December exam with the last date is 30th September 2018. The NET 2018 exam will take from 9th to 23rd December 2018. And the results are expected to be out by 10th January 2019.

Meanwhile, the JEE Main exam will take place from 6th to 20th January 2019 next year. The NTA has already announced JEE Main exam notification for 2019 exam.

Recently, NTA has arranged more than 3400 centers across the country for the UGC NET 2018 and JEE Main mock test practice. More than 2.2 lac computers will be available for the mock test drill.

The applicants who are wary of the Computer Based Test should apply for the mock test as it will allow them to practice and learn. Though CBT will only bring in efficiency and accuracy in the checking process.

In the nutshell, prospective students and applicants have received big relief in the shape of “Aadhaar not mandatory” news, and also mock test drill for all applicants.
