You could also rent a flat in Outram Line with your friends in the range of Rs. 12,000 to 28,000 per month. Also there are lot of cheaper options available in PGs for both boys and girls.
Apart from that, you get easier connectivity to Mukherjee Nagar and GTB Nagar, where almost all big names in coaching institutes are situated.

3. Vijay Nagar
Vijay Nagar is the place, where students from Delhi University mostly lives. That only because, you easily get cheaper options in independent flats here, and it is comparatively near to Delhi University.

Vijay Nagar is divided into two parts – single and double storey. The single storey is more expensive than double storey.
If you’re quite low on budget then you could also opt for Patel Chest, where you will easily find small rooms for as low as Rs. 1,500 per month.

Nevertheless, Mukherjee Nagar can be a lot expensive. Also, there aren’t much option available in terms of independent flats.

Gurmandi is attached to Vijay Nagar, here you could find lot of cheap options. However, you will have to compromise on parking space, cleanliness, locality and commutation facilities.

You could easily find an independent flat or room in Gurmandi. Also, you have PG option here. In any case, don’t expect good service.

7. Munirka
Delhi has lot of villages, who have turned into an urban locality. However, the infrastructure, locality and lifestyle remains the same.
Munirka is also one of the Delhi’s villages, which is located in the heart of South Delhi. It has JNU, Green Park, Vasant Vihar and Hauz Khas in vicinity.
If you’re pursuing your degree course from one of the South Campus college or JNU, then you won’t find better place than Munirka.
You will lot of cheap and affordable housing options here in Munirka. However, it is village you may have to deal with society for your lifestyle.

8. Greater Kailash
Greater Kailash up market posh colony that offer mid to high range options. If you have good enough budget, and ready to afford an expensive flat then GK should be on your list.
There are lot of institutes and colleges in and around Greater Kailash. For a student living here could be expensive, but the quality lifestyle is unmatched.
Moreover, the sprawling market and food joints around GK are amazing. You could also enjoy night near you in Hauz Khas. Also, metro, bus, and airport connectivity is excellent.

The nearest metro station to Vasant Vihar is situated in Hauz Khas. Also, the markets around, greenery, spacious roads, parking space, and public services are easily available here.
But this place is only recommended to those students who want to reside in South Delhi, and effectively afford expensive lifestyle.

10. Rajouri Garden
Rajouri Garden is one of the semi-posh colonies in India that has luxury of metro station and large shopping malls.

There are lot of coaching institutes as well nearby. Apart from that, two large Delhi University colleges – Rajdhani college and Shivaji college.

There are some PG options available in Vikaspuri for both boys and girls. Apart from PG you can also rent a floor or flat here with your friends. People are open minded here, and often are non-interfering.

12. Janakpuri
Janakpuri is a hub for office space, startups, businesses, and IT service companies. Apart from that there are lot of coaching institutes, schools and colleges.
This place can easily be categorized posh only because of the upmarket colony and high rates of properties here.
Janakpuri has its own metro station, and connectivity through bus is also easy. Moreover, auto-rickshaws are easily available here.
There are few options in PGs that good enough. However, you could easily rent a flat or floor here with your friends. The rent range for a flat or floor is the mid-level starting from Rs 12,000 per month.

There are options available for PGs and independent flats. However, there are noisy to peaceful localities around Preet Vihar. Therefore, you have to choose accordingly.

14. Laxmi Nagar

However, noisy locality will always be a concern here. Apart from that, PGs, rooms and flats are available in affordable range.

15. Priyadarshini Vihar
Priyadarshini is right next to Laxmi Nagar, that also has metro connectivity. There coaching institutes here as well. Therefore, lot of students opt this place to live.
However, searching for a flat can be a challenge as rent rates are high. Though there are PGs available in Priyadarshini Vihar that too are limited.
The locality is green and somewhat peaceful. Also the neighborhood is upmarket and friendly. Also the markets are not much vibrant. Though there are few good eating joints and restaurants.
Overall, Priyadarshini Vihar should be opted by someone, who has high budget.
